Get Up and Go

The voyage launched with us trying to secure a booking for our coveted destination Hosteller in Jim Corbette, Uttarakhand. This location is situated in the wilderness. It boasts a swimming pool and unrestricted access to wildlife. It is situated about 60 km away from us. The business runs on the syndicalistic doctrine, and have many boards, which makes sure they accommodate only their loyal and best of best clients.

The bookings weren’t closing the deal online with us, so we decided to  embark on this adventure by rolling on our Scooty Optimus and reach the destination to find out for ourselves. We were lucky, and found a brother Manish Garewal Ji, who made a deal with us to get us a private dormitory room in the Hosteller under the booking of Vanya. Previous encounters during travel, have taught us something the hard way. They taught us, that, in case someone arranged for you to stay in their dorooms, during your solo travel, you shouldn’t allow anyone with you there. A special exception for those who are trustworthy and fortunate, can be made. Rest, you are enough!

The dormitory room consists of a neat and clean common bathroom, one palpable bunk bed with two singles, a queen sized bed, along with the bonus of a TV. What a dinky little room! This was perfect for me, as I am into playing and talking by myself for acting pointers. This arrangement perfectly suited my preference for solitude and self-reflection, providing a profound sense of tranquility and self-discovery.

There is a profound serenity that being “Present” here could give us. It engulfs one’s heart, so you start feeling alight and uplifted. Such candor within oneself can be found only in a private dormitory room and by finding solace in our true nature so, we can see this new aspect of ourselves. The wild accommodates a reflection or side of ours, which we call our inner animal. It needs a lot of care and attention. To find that self, we must connect with nature of wild and not just nature alone. This can be done by observing animals and their interactions.

In the words of Chief, we quote- “All things share the same breath- the beast, the tree, the man. The air shares its spirit with all the life it supports.”

This means, the sharing of its spirit by the air makes us feel united, with the forces of beasts or animals and nature alike. It emphasizes the interconnectedness of all living beings and the natural world. When we breathe in the air, the diligent spirits wave them to stir up something we call an “instinctual perspective” or “insight” from us. This supports life and light. It will assist you well to foster relaxation and inhale in the freshness through a rejuvenated state of mind.

Remember, “Even the darkest night will end and the sun will rise.” – Victor Hugo

Monkeys can be known for being quite the menace, but it’s fun to watch them not being menacing. Their playful antics include jumping into the swimming pool and playing around in the lawn. There are several cute baboons that keep paying a visit too.

The Corbett Wild Vanya River Access Resort, are hell-bent and ardent on making sure that ones activities aren’t disturbed by the wildlife or people and, the spiritual realizations of the individual or group stays intact! They preserve the spiritual essence of the individual or group.

There is a jungle safari that they offer to immerse ourselves in jungle adventure, of spotting more animals. There were families who were willing to go for the safari, but our plan got cancelled cause of the heebie-jeebies that the tiger gave them.

The homely haven of Vanya, is in walking distance from all the cool and fun activities like bungee jumping, rock-climbing, ATV bike rides, water balloon, sky cycling, hot air balloon, ball shooting, camel rides, elephant rides etc.

We love shooting! To take a break from exploring spirits, we went for one round of shooting. The gun was heavy, different and new. It felt as good as holding a real heavy artillery like a Chopper. We got 20 rounds to fire, out of which we got two wrong! What a splatter blast!

Back in our doroom, we had a comfy stay under the cozy duvets provided by the hostel included within the cost of the private doroom (dormitory plus room). You will find the common area for food, near the entrance of Hosteller.

There was a violent attack which had broken out in this state of India, which was causing immense tension. The networks were disturbed and wifi was not getting connected, on government orders.

The wonderful person, Kuldeep Ji, allowed us to keep ourselves entertained and fright free by having one mind on the matter and relish oneness of humanity, animals, aliens, predators and monsters alike. He understood our requirements and sent us with Manish Ji for bird watching to their personal riverside. The beautiful species of black crane were basking in the sun while sitting on rocks there.

The evening brought a delightful experience of dancing with a group of gentlemen by the bonfire. The impeccable service is superb, but we could be worked with a lot better by keeping specific things like slippers in rooms and yoga mats available at the property. For WE hold the power to be forgiving, but this cold temperature doesn’t! Enhancing the overall comfort, will ensure the attentive staff isn’t working for give aways!

Warm provisions, like extra duvets and hair dryer during the cold are a must and can be made available by contacting the staff members or numbers available in the Menu. This advocates a greater accessibility.

Awaiting the return of the Mysterious Man, aren’t we!

The Corbette Wild Vanya River Access Resort got an apt and loving selection of books at the hosteller’s reading room, a special space for ah books, my love!

An open minded, proactive, helpful, quick, polite and resourceful staff. They provide great security to make sure everyone stays safe. Since it’s in a jungle location, already with enough populace, it may be a yummy spot for man eater tigers and we can’t predict the kind of problems that could arise all the time. The team of members at the property make sure if any problems arise, it is taken care of at the earliest. They ensue reminders of safety protocols, so we can enjoy our thrilling stay amongst the tigers and various others.

Keep my bed reserved, I will be coming back to enjoy the harmonious environment with you all, my loving family like friends at Hosteller! We are looking forward to staying longer and doing more with available single beds in dorms, when we come back! So we can do more activities and have a lot of fun!
